Brad Cohen is a distinguished figure in the education sector, holding the position of Assistant Principal at Addison Elementary School in Cobb County, Georgia. With a career spanning over two decades, he has garnered experience as a second and third-grade teacher and a technology lab instructor. Cohen is recognized for his excellence in education and was the recipient of the Sallie Mae First Year Teacher of the Year Award for the State of Georgia, an award reflecting his commitment to the educational field.
Cohen's challenges with severe Tourette Syndrome have deeply influenced his educational and advocacy efforts. His award-winning book "Front of the Class: How Tourette Syndrome Made Me the Teacher I Never Had" was released in 2005 and has notably earned the Independent Publisher Book Award for Best Education Book. This autobiographical work was adapted into a Hallmark Hall of Fame TV movie titled "Front of the Class," reflecting his dedication to accurate representation of Tourette Syndrome. Additionally, Cohen's life story inspired the Bollywood film "Hichki" in 2018.
