Dana Perino Biography
Dana Perino is an American political commentator, author, and educator, widely recognized for her service as the 26th White House Press Secretary under President George W. Bush from September 14, 2007, to January 20, 2009, making her the second woman to hold the position after Dee Dee Myers.
Following her White House tenure, Perino became a prominent voice in political media as a co-host of Fox News’ talk show “The Five” and currently co-anchors “America's Newsroom” alongside Bill Hemmer. She has moderated major political events, including the second GOP presidential primary debate on Fox Business, and has made appearances on programs such as “Jeopardy!” during its “Power Players” week in 2012.
Beyond broadcasting, Perino has built a significant presence in publishing, serving in executive roles at Random House and later as editorial director at the Crown Publishing Group. She is also an educator, teaching political communications part-time at George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management.
