Daniel James Brown is a #1 New York Times bestselling author recognized for his ability to bring historical events to life through his narrative nonfiction writing. His notable works include "The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics," which has been adapted for an upcoming movie directed by George Clooney and Grant Heslov. Other significant works are "Under a Flaming Sky: The Great Hinckley Firestorm of 1894," and "The Indifferent Stars Above: The Harrowing Saga of a Donner Party Bride," which follows the journey of Sarah Graves and her tragic involvement with the Donner Party. His book "Facing the Mountain: A True Story of Japanese American Heroes in World War II" won the Christopher Award, reflecting the heroic contributions of Japanese Americans during WWII.
