While drawing broad connections between science, history, culture and economics, she also discussed how art can be a tool in addressing environmental challenges--all the while emphasizing the importance of community engagement for individual and societal resilience. Her personal story of growing up as a youth activist and now seeing the world through the lens of a recent college graduate and social justice-oriented filmmaker led to excellent question and answer sessions with our students.
