Jason Caldwell Biography
Jason Caldwell is a world-class athlete, a trainer in leadership and high-performance, and a keynote speaker. Over the past nine years, he has applied the lessons from sports to teach effective leadership in the competitive and ever-changing professional arena.
Caldwell rowed and received his bachelor's degree in business from Sonoma State University. Upon graduation, he rowed for Vesper Boat Club's elite team in Philadelphia, securing two gold medals, one silver, and one bronze at the National Championships over three years. In 2015, he captained and represented the United States in a 3,000-mile rowing race across the Atlantic Ocean. Despite a dramatic 51-day journey that included the emergency evacuation of two team members, Caldwell led his remaining crew to finish in Antigua, setting an American Record for the fastest U.S. four to ever cross the Atlantic. In 2017, dissatisfied with an earlier 11th place finish, he recruited a new team and re-entered the race. On January 19th, his team not only won the race but also broke the world record as the fastest team to ever row across the Atlantic Ocean. This achievement was recognized with an induction into the 2018 Guinness Book of World Records.
Today, Caldwell is the President and Owner of Latitude 35 Leadership, specializing in experiential training for leadership and high-performance team dynamics. He has delivered leadership and team-building programs to over 100 companies in more than 20 countries and taught at the executive education departments of top business schools including Wharton, Darden, Emory, and Columbia School of Business. In addition to his work with Latitude 35, Caldwell has authored two books, "What If" and "Navigating the Impossible," which discuss his experiences and lessons in leadership and team dynamics. He continues to lead teams in challenging adventures worldwide, sharing his experiences and insights. Caldwell currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife.
