Michael Smerconish Biography
Michael A. Smerconish is the host of "The Michael Smerconish Program," heard nationwide on SiriusXM’s POTUS channel. He is also the host of CNN’s “Smerconish,” which airs Saturday mornings, offering an unbiased, middle-of-the-road approach to delivering the news. With a perfect blend of analysis and humor, Smerconish delivers engaging, thought-provoking, and balanced dialogue on today’s political arena. He has interviewed multiple U.S. Presidents including Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush, as well as Vice Presidents Al Gore, Dick Cheney, and Joe Biden.
Smerconish was a longtime newspaper columnist for the Philadelphia Daily News and Sunday Philadelphia Inquirer, and his columns have been reprinted in newspapers across the country and internationally. He is the author of seven books, including two New York Times best sellers. Four of his books, including "Clowns to the Left of Me, Jokers to the Right: American Life in Columns" and his first novel "TALK," have had their proceeds donated to charity. The television rights for "TALK" were optioned by Warner Brothers.
His one-man live performance, “Things I Wish I Knew Before I Started Talking,” debuted on Hulu and is currently available on streaming platforms including Amazon, Apple, and Google. He is of counsel at the Philadelphia law firm of Kline & Specter. Smerconish is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Lehigh University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He resides in the Philadelphia suburbs with his wife, where they have raised four children.
