Ryan's life is a testament to the power of resilience. After sleeping in homeless shelters and navigating the foster care system, he was adopted in second grade. He endured the devastating loss of his biological mother to suicide, battled addiction, and struggled with depression. Ryan faced time in jail, overcame learning disabilities, and spent two years as a drug addict, amassing $30,000 in court fines and being pulled over three times with drugs in his possession. Yet, through sheer determination, he turned his life around, transforming his struggles into a story of triumph and service.
Ryan understands the profound power of choice—the ability to go in the right or wrong direction. He believes the first step toward change always begins with making a choice.
As a 13-year military veteran, Ryan’s platoon endured harrowing experiences, including deadly vehicle explosions during his two tours in Afghanistan, with 23 out of 32 soldiers injured and one killed in action. Despite the trauma, PTSD, and struggles, Ryan emerged stronger, channeling his experiences into becoming a celebrated musician and sought-after speaker.
Ryan is dedicated to creating leaders who build winning, safe environments in work, school, and life. He returned to school and graduated with degrees in Psychology and Family Science to better understand and help people.
