Tony Goldwyn, an actor, director, and producer, is renowned for his versatility and depth in both film and television. Goldwyn's breakout role arrived in 1990 when he played the treacherous Carl Bruner in the blockbuster film "Ghost," starring alongside Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. This portrayal earned him a nomination for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor, cementing his standing in Hollywood. Goldwyn's acting career has spanned a broad range of roles and genres, including parts in "The Pelican Brief," "Kiss the Girls," and "The Last Samurai." He also voiced the main character in the Disney animated film "Tarzan" in 1999 and impressed audiences with his portrayal of astronaut Neil Armstrong in the HBO miniseries "From the Earth to the Moon" in 1998.
In addition to his acting career, Goldwyn's contributions behind the camera as a director and producer are substantial. He directed several feature films, including "A Walk on the Moon" and "Conviction," and episodes of popular television series such as "Dexter" and "Justified." Widely recognized for his role as President Fitzgerald Grant III on the popular TV series "Scandal," created by Shonda Rhimes, his portrayal of the conflicted president resonated with viewers and solidified his status as a television star. His role in "Scandal" also won him a Peabody Award for directing several series episodes. Since 2024, Goldwyn has been playing Manhattan district attorney Nicholas Baxter on "Law & Order."

He studied at Hamilton College, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, and Brandeis University before launching his career.
