Cesar Millan is one of the most recognized personalities on television today. The renowned dog behavior specialist stars in the hit show Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan on the National Geographic Channel, seen by millions weekly.
Born and raised in Mexico, Cesar felt a special connection with dogs from an early age. In 1990, at the age of 21, Millan, who spoke no English, crossed the border, living on the streets of San Diego until he got a job as a dog groomer. He soon gained a reputation for handling difficult dogs.
Moving to Los Angeles, he started a dog rehabilitation service, specializing in extreme cases. Word of mouth quickly grew, as did his client list, which included A-List celebrities. He opened the Dog Psychology Center, a facility for rehabilitating troubled, aggressive and condemned dogs, which is still in operation today.
Dedicated to the rehabilitation of dogs everywhere, he started the Millan Foundation, which educates people and raises awareness of animal welfare and supports the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of abused and abandoned dogs. From appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show to help her rehabilitate Sophie the Cocker Spaniel, to training Will Smith's Rottweilers, Cesar's methods have proved valuable for dogs from all walks of life.
His books and DVDs include many #1 bestsellers, and he even has his own magazine, Cesar's Way. In 2008, he launched a new line of branded merchandise for dogs, including organic dog food and other products and accessories, all environmentally friendly and stringently tested.
