Finn Wolfhard Biography
Finn Wolfhard is well known for his portrayal of Mike Wheeler in the Netflix Original Series "Stranger Things," a role which garnered him a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. The series itself has been recognized with two MTV Movie & TV Awards for Show of the Year, an AFI award for TV Program of the Year, and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Drama Television Series. Wolfhard's career also includes voice work on animated series such as "Carmen Sandiego," "NEW-GEN," "Smiling Friends," and "JJ Villard's Fairy Tales."
His filmography includes significant roles in a range of films. He made his big-screen debut as Richie Tozier in the film adaptation of Stephen King's horror novel "It" and reprised his role in its sequel "It: Chapter Two." His other roles include Boris Pavlikovsky in the drama film "The Goldfinch," the voice of Pugsley Addams in "The Addams Family," Miles in the supernatural horror film "The Turning," Trevor in the supernatural film "Ghostbusters: Afterlife," and an NBC Page in Jason Reitman's "Saturday Night." Wolfhard also appeared in the anthology film "Omniboat: A Fast Boat Fantasia" and provided voice acting for Guillermo del Toro's "Pinocchio." His directorial work showcases his talents behind the camera, debuting with the comedy short film "Night Shifts" and later directing the feature-length film "Hell of a Summer," in which he also starred.
Wolfhard's contributions to the music industry are notable as well. He was the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and songwriter for the rock band Calpurnia until its dissolution in 2019. He now plays with The Aubreys, which released their debut EP "Soda & Pie." The band has also graced music videos by bands such as PUP and Weezer. In 2017, he co-directed his first music video. Aside from his acting and music career, Wolfhard has been involved in advocacy work for autism and indigenous children. He hosted the charity event "Strange 80s" to raise funds for Sweet Relief and was recognized for his efforts with an award from the organization. His various roles in the industry, from acting to directing to advocacy, have led to his inclusion in Variety's Hollywood Youth Impact Report, The Hollywood Reporter's top 30 stars under age 18, and Forbes 30 Under 30 class of 2020 in the field of Hollywood and entertainment.
