Since 1988, Jim Clifton has served as Chairman and CEO of Gallup, a leader in organizational consulting and public opinion research. Under his leadership, Gallup has achieved a significant increase in billing volume and expanded from a predominantly U.S.-based company to a worldwide organization with 40 offices in 30 countries and regions. Clifton has been instrumental in expanding Gallup's reach and influence on a global scale.
Clifton is the creator of The Gallup Path, a metric-based economic model that establishes linkages among human nature in the workplace, customer engagement, and business outcomes. This innovative model is utilized in performance management systems across more than 500 companies globally. He also launched the Gallup World Poll, designed to give the world's 7 billion citizens a voice on key global issues, with the ambitious goal of collecting world opinion for 100 years in 150 countries.
Clifton is the author of the #1 Wall Street Journal bestseller "It's the Manager," along with "Born to Build" and "The Coming Jobs War." His literary contributions provide insights into leadership and economic development. Additionally, Clifton serves on several boards and is Chairman Emeritus of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. He holds honorary degrees from Medgar Evers, Jackson State, and Bellevue Universities.
