Marisa Zeppieri is an author, former journalist and Mrs. New York 2015, national speaker and founder of LupusChick, a 501c3 that supports and educates those living or caring for someone with chronic illness.
Her most recent book, a memoir titled, “Chronically Fabulous”, was a Goody Award winner in the Health Category, and a condensed version of Zeppieri's story is told as the 35th Chapter of Lady Gaga's recent anthology, “Channel Kindness”. As a speaker, Zeppieri concentrates on sharing the patient perspective, thriving despite living with a chronic illness, and themes of purpose and gratitude. At LupusChick, one of her greatest missions is to help those living with chronic illness complete their schooling in order to help them financially take care of themselves. To help with this, LupusChick has awarded 18 college stipends to men and women living with chronic illness in the past 8 years.
A native New Yorker, she recently moved to the mountains of the Carolinas with her family where she is quickly learning about bears, snakes and other unexpected visitors that she never saw in the city.
