In global survey of 1,500 CEO’s, IBM found that creativity was considered to be the number 1 leadership trait for the future:
"more than rigor, management discipline, integrity or even vision - successfully navigating an increasingly complex world will require creativity."
Why? Leaders will need to be creative (solve problems in new and useful ways) to stay abreast of rapid change. Further, they will need to orchestrate and encourage creativity across all the levels for which creativity is important. They will need to identify and develop creativity in individuals, build and nurture creativity in teams and set the culture and align processes to promulgate creativity throughout the whole organisation.
Simón has conducted keynote presentations numerous community colleges, universities and conferences around the country.
“In the world today, there is renewed interest in the term, “creativity.” It is no longer a word reserved exclusively for artists, musicians, or scientists. Ushering in a new era in education, the word "creativity" is being heralded as an essential 21st century skill.” – Simón Silva
In recent months since the arrival of Covid 19, individuals have lost jobs and struggled to find ways to stay relevant in the 21st century job market. Most individuals have only focused on one of their many abilities/talents and thus leaving themselves susceptible to the 21st job market. Is there a way to use the arts to nurture all of our student’s abilities/talents and make them indispensable in the 21st Century Job market? Is there a way to use the Arts as a foundation to enhance individuality and confidence? How can the Arts enhance everyone’s 21st Century Skills?
Simón provides educators a clearer understanding of the visual arts and practical projects to enhance everyone’s creativity and help individuals succeed in the 21st Century Job Market.
We had the pleasure of having Simon Silva speak as they keynote for the National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Conference in February in Virginia. His story, vision and mission spoke to the hundreds of attendees from across the United States serving the Early Childhood Education profession working with Migrant families. His journey described purpose, perseverance, humility, determination, and passion. Simon additionally held several workshops with our parents which again set the tone for preparing their own children and the importance of creativity and involvement. Simons ability to relate, motivate and inspire left us all with a sense of empowerment. We are so excited to be welcoming Simon to present to our staff and parents next week here in Washington State at our 2016 Annual Pre-Service!

We had the honor and privilege of having Simon Silva present to a group of 70+ Spanish speaking parents on the importance of nurturing creativity in their children. Parents were inspired by Mr. Silva's personal journey and were captivated by his words of encouragement. Mr. Silva engaged the parents in a series of hands-on activities that highlighted the importance of creativity. Parents worked with cardboard boxes, play-do and crayons. He instilled in the parents the importance bringing out the "genius" in their children and not limiting their abilities. This workshop gave parents an understanding of Common Core and preparing their children for the 21st Century. We have invited Mr. Silva to return to our district to continue the great work he started with our parents.

I thought Mr. Silva's presentation was poised, polished and insightful. Our teachers got a lot out of it, and I would be pleased to have him back at another time. I appreciate that Simon strongly desires to give the most he can to the organization he's working with in terms of time, effort and quality.

Simon has a very personal way of touching the hearts of people as he walks us through his personal journey in life. He ties his journey to his mission to reopen the creativity minds of our children, teachers, and parents. After hearing and engaging in conversation with him, one is inspired to search for our own creativity to make a difference for the better.
