Throughout her career, Teresa Taylor nurtured a legacy of pioneering change, vision, and demonstrated leadership that earned her recognition in investor media, among shareholders, customers, and employees. She is a respected telecom industry executive recognized for her strategic planning and leadership skills, and she leads by example, finding opportunities for change and striving to consistently create value.
As CEO of Blue Valley Advisors, LLC, Taylor advises companies, government agencies, and other endeavors on vision, strategy, operations, and public affairs. She also shares her experience on integrating personal and professional life, drawing on anecdotes from her time in significant meetings, including those at the White House and union negotiations, and even at her sons' soccer practices.
Taylor retired from Qwest, now known as CenturyLink, as the Chief Operating Officer where she was responsible for the strategy and daily operations of the Sales, Product Marketing, Network, and IT organizations. During her tenure, she led 30,000 employees and drove the company's execution in serving customers, overseeing the Network and IT deployment, and represented the company with investors and Wall Street. Taylor played a pivotal role in facilitating the $20 billion acquisition process, navigating the complexities of a large corporate merger.
Previously, Taylor held numerous executive positions at Qwest, including Executive Vice President of Business Markets, Chief Administrative Officer, Executive Vice President of Wholesale, and Executive Vice President of Products. Before her 23 years with Qwest, she worked with several startup technology companies.
Taylor serves on the Board of Directors for T-Mobile USA, Inc., NiSource, Inc., and First Interstate BancSystem, Inc. She resides in Denver, Colorado, and is active in the community and public affairs. Her past positions include Executive Advisor to Governor Hickenlooper, Global Leadership Council for the Colorado State University – College of Business, Colorado Technology Association, and Colorado State Job Cabinet. Taylor is also an active member in the National Association of Corporate Directors and Women Corporate Directors.
Her award-winning book, "The Balance Myth: Rethinking Work-Life Success," inspires readers to reconsider the conventional view of work-life balance, offering insights into achieving professional and personal success.
