Major General Vincent "Vinny" Boles is a retired United States Army officer with a distinguished 33-year career, including commanding roles at every level and multiple combat deployments. His final military assignment was as the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff, G4, at the Pentagon, where he managed logistics operations and readiness for a 1.1 million Soldier force during the surges into Iraq and Afghanistan. He also served as the 33rd Chief of Ordnance and Commandant of the U.S. Army Ordnance School at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland, focusing on embedding "lessons learned" in combat into training programs.
After retiring from the military in 2009, Boles established Vincent E. Boles, Inc., a leadership and logistics consulting practice based in Huntsville, Alabama. He has been actively engaging with corporate and association groups across the nation and internationally, offering insights into leadership, team performance, and logistics. Boles is also an adjunct professor of Leadership and Logistics at the University of Alabama Huntsville and the Defense Acquisition University – South. Boles is the author of "4-3-2-1 Leadership: What America’s Sons and Daughters Taught Me on the Road from 2d Lieutenant to 2 Star General," which is now in its third printing. In 2011, he was inducted into the US Army Ordnance Corps and Niagara University ROTC Halls of Fame, recognizing his contributions to military leadership and education.
